German Tanks of WW2
1854095188Encyclopedia of German Tanks of World War Two
by Peter Chamberlain, Hilary Doyle

Book Description
1,000 b/w illustrations! A complete illustrated directory is finally available that shows and  describes nearly 300 types of German battle army tanks, armored cars, self-propelled guns, and semi-tracked vehicles manufactured and put into service from 1933 to 1945. Only recently have  the records of the manufacturers been made public, so never before could you know just how  many of each model were available, along with accurate dates of their production and  mobilization. Historic photos identify features of each vehicle type, including uncommon variants.   Captions are packed with accurate details on designations given by the German Army General  Staff: alternative designations, manufacturing and development history, chassis numbers, engine  capacity, fuel, coolants, gearbox performance, speed and range, armament, armor material and  thickness, and service record. Trim size: 8 3/4 x 11.

0764310380Germany's Tiger Tanks D.W. to Tiger I: Design, Production &  Modifications
by Thomas L. Jentz, H. L. Doyle

Book Description
This first volume, of a three-volume set, covers the history, development and production history of the Tiger tank variants from the  idea's conception to the end of Tiger I production. This includes details on the development series known as the D.W., VK  30.01(H), VK 30.01(P), VK 36.01(H), VK 45.01(P) as well as the Tiger I. All of this illustrated with scale drawings by Hilary L. Doyle, combined with drawings, sketches, and photographs depicting external modifications as well as internal views. Over thirty  years of intensive research went into finding the original documents needed to create this history of the development, characteristics,  and tactical capabilities of the Tiger. An exhaustive search was made for surviving records of the design/assembly firms (including  Krupp, Henschel, Porsche, and Wegmann), the Heereswaffenamt, the Generalinspekteur der Panzertruppen, the D656 series of  manuals on the Tiger, and the war diaries with their supporting reports from German army units. This is supplemented by the  authors' collecting hundreds of photos and climbing over, under, around, and through nearly every surviving Tiger I., 160 b/w  photographs, 151 line drawings, 9" x 12"
