The P-47 Thunderbolt was used  in the fighter groups of nine U.S. Air Forces spread across the globe during WWII. It  was also used by numerous foreign air forces. The P-47 ‘Jug’ was legendary for its  power and ruggedness as it conducted fighter sweep, bomber escort, and ground   attack missions in every theater of the war.
