From that time, I have, personally gone to the North Pole multiple times since 2002 and have sent people to the North Pole every year since 2001. Skydiving on the North
Pole.
 This is a one day event. Depart Longyearbyen, Fly to the North Pole Base Camp in an An-74 Jet Airplane, Fly to the Geographical North Pole in a Mi-8 Helicopter. Drop off the tourist, Fly to about 5000 feet and make you jump then Return to Longyearbyen in the reverse process. A North Pole Expedition is
really a group of many companies working together to get people to the most
difficult place on the planet earth. I've seen north pole expeditions go
from where we had to carry everything that we needed to survive, ourselves, to
expeditions where they are now, a highly refined and organized effort to ensure
the maximum of safety and lowest prices possible for every expedition.
One part of your expedition to the north pole should always include a couple of side tours, they're great. Taking at least two snowmobile trips and a local tour to the Longyearbyen Coal Mine or the Ice Caves will turn your North Pole Expedition from Absolutely Fantastic to Absolutely Super Fantastic. For two snowmobile tours and a coal mine tour, you will probably spend just less than a thousand USD. When you think of it, this is only a drop in the bucket compared to the price of going back and doing it again, and truthfully speaking, I wish that I would have gone on every extra tour that I could. Look at the Tempelfjorden tour here, also, click here to see the Barentsberg Snowmobile tour. This is a very important part of the expeditions. Getting a hotel in Longyearbyen is a nightmare. It's best to be left up to the Expedition Leader. Here's a city of only about 2500 people, and all of a sudden starting in early April, it nearly doubles its size with tourist. If you want the very best room, or even a room that you want to keep for the whole expedition, it is very important to sign up for your expedition as soon as possible because the rooms really do go fast. Here's the very last thing and another extremely good advantage of an early sign-up. As prices fluctuate in the international currency, the prices usually end up costing more later than earlier. Now that he EURO has been gaining strength, even though the prices in EURO's might stay the same, they will increase in USD's as we have been recently seeing. C.
