Our group walked down the hill from the city of Khatanga to the entrance of the
ice cave where the woolly mammoth is currently stored. As we walked down
into the valley of the Khatanga River, the temperature dropped about ten
degrees. It was very noticeable. The ice cave, as they call it, is
really part of a series of access tunnels under the city of Khatanga.
These tunnels carry wires, pipes, steam heat pipes and more. We are taking reservations for future North Pole Expedition Click here to find out more |
