There is one thing that I noticed about the housing in Barentsburg is that the roofs were filled with antennas.   Every apartment had its own, separate, antenna with a coaxial cable running to each window in the housing complex.  I am not sure why they didn't all chip in together and put a central antenna system in the housing complex, it would have made it much better.

There is another thing that I noticed and that is that every building had a beautiful picture painted on it.
