North Pole Travel and Global Warming, What it Means to You

Our new home in the city of Khatanga in Northern Siberia, the Khatanga Hotel.   You will love this hotel!

The first floor is, of course, the check in desk and main lobby.  It is also the Khatanga telephone center and with the big Satellite dish on top, it is obviously the main satellite communications station in the town.   The second, third and fourth floors are for hotel customers.  Each floor has a nice size lobby with folding tables that you can use for serving breakfast and snacks.  If you had a screen, you could use the wall of the hotel lobby to show movies.

You should have used the restrooms here.  The second floor had Japanese toilets that you squat over.  The third floor had American toilets that you sit on.  The hotel workers put toilet paper in the toilets once a week so when we went to the restaurant, we took a big hand full of napkins.  I was lucky enough to know that on any expedition, there is one thing that you always bring, and that is your own roll of toilet paper.
