Russian Military Aircraft,   The Ilyushin Il-2 Stormovik, dubbed "The Flying Tank" because of its heavy armament, was the preeminent Soviet ground-attack plane of WWII and the most-produced aircraft of the war.   Another Ilyushin aircraft the mid-1930s long-range Soviet bomber first bore the TsKB-26 moniker, was later called the DB-3F, and after several upgrades was re-designated the Ilyushin Il-4 in 1942, when it served the Soviet air force and navy in bombing, recon and torpedo roles.
