One thing about this coal mining operation is that it uses the latest, state of the art equipment.   This is the central control room.  It contains an electronic map of the entire mine which is displayed on various monitors.  it also checks air flow and fan speed for proper operation.  Coal mining is still dirty work but it no longer has the extreme dangers of the old coal mining as we have seen in the early 1900's.  There are no longer hundreds of workers chipping away at the walls instead, the coal mining operation of mine #7 uses only ten workers on a regular basis.
