Skiing is done for the first day.  The sledges were unpacked and the tents were setup in the worlds largest ski area, the North Pole.  It's interesting to see how hard these skiers really have to work to pull these sledges across the polar ice.  It is equivalent to running ten miles a day for ten days straight.  While doing all of this work, Randall Peeters had to do it with a bad knee.  Many years ago he was told that he would be unable to walk in just two years and since that time he has climbed Mt. Everest and the summit of the highest mountain in every continent.  These fantastic feats were mostly due to a specially designed knee brace.  Now that he has climbed so many mountains the ski trip to the North Pole adds up to the Grand Slam making him one of the few members of the Grand Slam club in this huge ski area.
