In this picture you can see that the wind is coming from the left and Mt. Fuji is creating it's own weather.  Mount Fuji is the archetype of the stratovolcano and has erupted at least 16 times since 781 AD.  Most of the Eruptions were medium to medium large.  The most recent eruption was in 1707-1708.  Mt. Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan.

Mount Fuji is the archetype of the stratovolcano and has erupted at least 16 times since 781 AD.  Most of the Eruptions were medium to medium large.  The most recent eruption was in 1707-1708.  Mt. Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan at 12,388 feet and is surrounded by five lakes.

A stratovolcano, also called a composite volcano, is a tall, conical volcano composed of many layers of hardened lava,  and volcanic ash. These volcanoes are characterized by a steep profile with periodic and explosive eruptions.

Japanese Propaganda Art Exhibit
This is a very rare exhibit of Japanese art from WW2 1941 -1942
Exhibit Added 10 June 2007

Propaganda Art was used by forces on all sides in WW2 as well as all wars in history.  This kind of art gave pride to the citizens of those countries who produced it and gave a unity in support of the wars.  This exhibit is an excellent example of Japanese Propaganda art.
