P-47 Thunderbolt "Norma" |
from the 34th fighter Squadron Yearbook |
The fuel tanks on A P-47 Thunderbolt must be filled before it starts its engines. This is one of the P-47 Thunderbolts on the island of Ie Shima. Notice the size of this P-47, it's quite large for a fighter. One thing about the P-47 is that it was very heavily armored making it very hard to shoot down. |
