occurred between Captain Arthur C. Fiedler, Jr. of the 325th
Fighter Group and a German Bf 109 pilot when they met nearly
head-on, causing Fiedler to slam his P-51 into a near
vertical bank. After firing a few shots, his guns jammed and
he was suddenly parallel with the Bf 109, prompting him to
pull his service revolver in full view of the 109 pilot, who

Cement Squadron on June 29, 1944, just southwest of Leipzig,

from the rear. The canopy flew off and the pilot started to
climb out as Anderson flew alongside his Luftwaffe opponent.
