Notice that Brent is using a special tool to pull the leading edge cover
against the nose ribs.
If you look closely at the tool, you will see that it consist of a lever
arm with an aluminum strap connected to it This lever is pressing
against a wooden block. The wooden block is the other p art
of the tool and the other end of the aluminum strap is connected to the bottom
of the wooden block creating a sort of loop which wraps from the block, around
the leading edge cover to the lever arm.
Lets look at another feature. This is the bottom wing.
Notice that the drag and anti drag wires are not on the outboard section
of the wing. Instead, the designer chose to use a diagonal wooden
brace in place of an anti drag wire. This brace is functioning
as a drag wire in the compression of the brace and as an anti drag wire
in the tension of the brace. |
