A Letter from a Soldier in Iraq about Senator Obama

As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to "The War Zone". I wanted to share with you what happened.
He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram.

As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service.

So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back ! home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.

I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States . I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.

If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

From the Webmaster: Thank you very much CPT Porter. It is true that what you see in the news is mostly fake. This is why we are fighting a war which was based on lies. I know this because of the oil companies are making record profits in the time of war. In WW2 they would have been arrested, but it's not that way today.

For all of our readers, letters like this circulate the web. These letters may not be true either. Psychological Warfare is attacking our nations people and our government from every way. When I see the large volume of letters that I receive that are built as a read this and pass it along, I can also see that there is a total possibility that someone or some group is making these by taking facts and interjecting lies and then passing these letters to our population.

However I do appreciate all that you are doing for our country and that's why your letter did not go on to deaf ears and it is going on this site so it will remain a part of record and history. 2 August 2008 this letter was forwarded to me by my friend and U.S. Navy Veteran Stan Speer. Thank you Stan, you've always been a good friend.

Today I went to Wal-Mart in Peoria. I always wear my USS Kitty Hawk Hat. I was standing in the Sub Way Shop and a young lady came up to me and gave me a small slip of paper that was folded up and said, "This is for you." I was thinking what is this all about, this is very strange. When I opened the note here's what it said.

I just wanted to thank you for your service to our country, Forever Grateful, Amiee.

Thank you very much Amiee. You have made my day. I'm a disabled vet and have been going through some real bad times and you picked up my whole day. Thank you again, C. Jeff Dyrek, Webmaster.

P.S. I am sure that this note was not just for me, but for all service men and women who have worked so hard to keep our freedoms and to keep our country a favorite place to live. 2007

About little more than a month ago I was in Chicago's Union Station. A young boy walked up to me and said, "Mister, can I shake your hand? Thank you very much for serving our country." I really appreciated that because I'm a disabled veteran myself and I see too many disabled veterans that don't get any treatment or acknowledgement for what they did. In fact our Universities protest the soldiers, yet the very reason that they have the right to protest is because of our soldiers. But I do appreciate that this little boy had enough understanding to say thanks to me for serving my country. But he wasn't saying thanks to me, he was saying thanks to all of the soldiers now and in the past. And I better do the same thing. Thank you all for your efforts and sacrifices. C.
