| This Pitts has the cowling that I like
the best. It consist of a upper and lower cowling halves as opposed
to the type that have a separate nose bowl and the flip up sides. The
advantage of this type of cowl is that it is more aerodynamic but is more
difficult to open for a quick engine inspection. The other type of
nose bowl with the flip up sides allows a very easy access to the engine
but appears to have more drag and doesn't have the real nice lines as the
cowling shown here. |
