In 1948, the Berlin Airlift began in earnest after the Soviet Union cut off land and water routes to the isolated western sector of Berlin. Many U.S. Air Transport and Air Cargo Aircraft were used including the C-47 Dakota or very popularly called DC-3 These aircraft also flew over the hump of the Himalayas of Tibet to China. 	Curtiss C-46 The Curtiss C-46 Commando was an outgrowth of an airliner design first flown during 1940, and was used extensively in the Pacific Theater during WWII, primarily for transporting supplies over the Himalayan "hump" between India and China.

	PBY-5A Catalina 1/72 Scale Model Pre Built Mahogany Model Made of Philippine mahogany, this 1/72 scale model measures 10¾" in length and has a wingspan of 16¾". Hand painted and detailed with pre-WWII markings, model comes ready to display on the included mahogany base.
	PBY-5A Black Cat 1/72 Scale Model Kit Plastic Model Kit The early RADAR installed on the PBY-5A Catalinas was crude and very limited, but it worked well enough that the Black Cats were able to sink over 10,000 tons and seriously damage another 24,000 tons of Japanese merchant shipping in their night attacks. Plastic kit features fully engraved panel lines and rivet detail, highly detailed cockpit interior and waist gunner's compartment, optional position landing gear, wing-tip floats and more. 	Boeing C-97 Developed with much of the structure from the B-29 Superfortress, this Boeing cargo plane saw extensive use in Korea and served with SAC, as well.
	C-121 Blue Angels 1/144 Scale Model Kit Plastic Model Kit In the 1960s, a C-121 provided transportation and logistical support for the Blue Angels. While it was a wonderfully graceful airplane, the Connie was not well suited for this support role and so was replaced in 1970 with a C-130 Hercules. Plastic kit of this historical aircraft is fully detailed, and includes accurate Blue Angels markings. Assembly required.
