The P-47 Thunderbolt carried more than just eight powerful 50 Caliber Machine Guns. Its armament also included missiles and bombs. This was a versatile aircraft with its long range, heavy armament load and good squadron tactics. It was used for fighter support for the bombers over Japan as well as close ground support for our troops on the ground. |
