A close-up view of the tent city on IE Shima shows how the streets were laid out in tent city. These tent cities sprang up in many islands in the Pacific during World War 2. This is where our soldiers lived until the end of the war running their day to day lives while they worked on the P-47 Thunderbolts and other aircraft on Ie Shima. |
