This Bottom Wing is nearing completion.

Bent is looking at the bend in the Leading Edge Cover.  The bend radius is small so it will tightly fit the nose ribs when it is glued.  This leading edge cover is made of mahogany plywood.  Other materials for the leading edge would be fiberglass or aluminum.

The wood leading edges are easy to make, they're light weight, inexpensive and very strong.  The fiberglass edges are a bit more difficult to make but are also very strong and easy to repair.  The metal leading edges are difficult to repair and dent easily creating turbulence and an unsightly appearance.
